Maybe you would like to venture just a few miles inland to visit ancient castles, maybe pan for gold at the Roman Gold mine at Dolaucothi, or sample some of Ceredigion's award winning local food.

There is plenty to do in the New Quay area. There are several beaches including Dolau Beach, the Harbour Beach, Strategy Beach and Cei Bach. From New Quay Pier, there are boat trips to view the coastline and watch the Bottlenosed Dolphins, although these can be seen from the harbour wall at high tide as they follow the shoals of Mackerel into the bay (not guaranteed as they are wild dolphins). There is also a selection of water sports available at the Cardigan Bay water sports centre and a wide variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. A short drive from New Quay is the pretty regency harbour town of Aberaeron, spend a lazy day with a stroll along the bustling harbour and lunch in one of the many local eateries. The coastal towns of Aberystwyth and Cardigan are within easy reach and offer plenty of shops, restaurants and markets.
